OCS 2007 R2 question - user status always "Away"

We have OCS 2007 R2 in my client's organization. They are only using Front End servers (no Director), and we have had no issues with ~5000 users.

We are using Office Communicator 2007 R2 Version 3.5.6907.221. No issues, except *one* user whose status always shows as "Away".

I see nothing in the event logs, and we tried resetting free/busy using Outlook 2007 command line options. I don't see anything in the server logs or local computer logs. I looked at his Communicator diag logs and didn't see anything of note.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Regards,
Paul

RESOLVED - user status always "Away"

After banging my head against a sharp corner of my desk, we resolved the issue.

The client was running Windows XP Pro, SP2! Updating the client to SP3 resolved the incorrect Communicator status issue.

I didn't think to check the OS level, because "everyone" was supposed to be at SP3.

NOTE - SP3 release date was April, 2008, so this system was over three years out of date...

Sounds like since it is just a single user it could be something related to the workstation.  Does it follow the user to a good known system?
